Mendeleev’s Gift to Education (and to me)

Professor Poliakoff is known for his Periodic Table of Videos project, an outreach effort to familiarize the public with the elements of the periodic table. Sir Martyn achieved his undergraduate and PhD degrees at the University of Cambridge, and currently leads a research group at the University of Nottingham, developing green chemistry. He was knighted for his services to the chemical sciences in 2015, as due to his work as ambassador for UK science and in public outreach. He also first brought the concept of the International Year of the Periodic Table into public awareness.
