Rev William Williamson 1856-57

Very little has been found so far about William Williamson. He was recorded in the 1851 Census as a Surgeon-Dentist, aged 34, born in Scotland, and living at 45 Sparkenhoe Street, Leicester. In the 1855 Post Office Directory for Leicestershire and Rutland he was listed as in practice at 37 Gallowtree Gate, Leicester. However, he was not included in 1861 Leicestershire and Rutland Directory, does not seem to appear anywhere in the 1861 England, Wales or Scottish Census or those of later years, nor do his wife (Catherine born in Market Harborough ca. 1829, or son Walter, born in Leicester ca. 1850). It seems possible that he was the William Williamson whose death was registered in Leicester in 1858. However as there seem to be no subsequent British records of his wife and young son it is perhaps more likely that he and his family moved abroad.
