An educational performance workshop with Andrew Graves, courtesy of Renaissance One and Arts Council England, is running on Saturday, November 17th, from 1:30-3:30 at the Central Library, Leicester. Fiona Linday, a Freelance Creative Writing Tutor at the Attenborough Arts Centre, will host the workshop. Chosen contributors to the “Family Matters” Anthology from Attenborough Arts, will read extracts of their poetry and stories after having had some creative writing modelled by the poet, Andrew Graves and Fiona Linday. A PA system will increase our voices in audio volume/quality.
There will be gentle advice with suitable techniques offered to improve the quality of delivery of work to a small audience. The reading-out-loud good practice will be championed to help boost writers’ confidence.
This event is open to all.
Visitors will make up the audience and are welcome to contribute by reading a portion of their own work if time allows, towards the end of the workshop. So, come prepared to share your writing. As the event is open to over 12 year-olds, Fiona will read through visitor’s writing before agreeing to their performance.
